RaToya Gilmer was born and raised in Edwards, MS. Law has always been a passion for RaToya. After graduating from Raymond High School in May 2006, she attended Tougaloo College and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in May 2010. While at Tougaloo College she participated in the pre-law program where her passion for law was enhanced. So, it was only natural that she went directly to law school after graduating from Tougaloo College.
While in law school she was able to enhance her love for giving back to the community with her passion for law. She dedicated her law school experience to working for indigent and underrepresented individuals. RaToya graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in May 2013. She was admitted to practice law in the state of Mississippi in September 2013.
RaToya began her legal career at the firm, Precious Martin Sr. & Associates, PLLC (PTM). RaToya embodied the mantra of PTM, “Real People Helping Real People,” and as an associate there, she advocated for clients in the areas of domestic relations, personal injury, medical malpractice, and expungments. RaToya has not forfeited her love for giving back to the community. As an attorney, she has planned and participated in statewide expungements workshops to help revitalize and restore communities around the state. She is bringing her experience, passion for the law and love for the community to Gilmer & Green Legal Group, PLLC to continue to uplift clients and the community.
